First of all, Springvale Garden Center will be open over Thanksgiving Weekend
with regular hours. Our Massive Closing out Sale continues with incredible values. Our staff are now packing the houses but lots of great product is still available whether packed or not.
The Springvale office will be closed Monday the 8th (Garden Center Open!). Our intentions are to remain open as long as the weather holds and the traffic continues! Our closing date will be announced in our newsletter, Facebook and on this website when we decide it. But for now, everything remains the same.
Our year at Springvale has been full of rock and roll and I don’t mean musically! Things that we have always counted on haven’t worked and other things have worked better than expected. But I want to give some specific recognition and thanks to some people.
We have been blessed with a super dedicated group of folks that have chosen to work at Springvale. Our numbers are lower than in the past but our core people remain. Cindy and Jo in the Office…you are both the glue that holds Springvale together. Lori, our book-keeper has literally kept us going in more ways than one.
Our field guys, Greg, Mike, Scott, Steve and Eddy have helped us get our fields and our trees in better shape than ever.
In the container and retail yard we have Tammy, Susan, Donna and Sky, each one making his or her own special contribution. Joe is our new driver this year and on occasion, Marvin.
Our propagation and research team is equally awesome…Robin, Sandy, Heather, Melanie and Mike. Most of them have been instrumental in developing our rose program and now are working on propagation processes for native plants for site restoration.
And a few folks have moved on to new careers this year and we wish them well, Dan, Melissa, and Eugene…. thanks! And there have been many others this and past years who have helped build Springvale. We are truly grateful to have such amazing people in our lives.
I have been touched by the Hand of God in the people he has given me to love. My Mom and Dad, Norm and Ina, still going strong in their 80’s and 90’s and we will have dinner with them this coming Thanksgiving Monday. Our daughters and their husbands and grandkids have and continue to bring joy to our lives. Sally and Mick live in New Glasgow with their two boys, Ben and Joe. (We got to take Ben and Joe to the launch of the Bluenose III last Saturday). And our daughter Cathy, husband – Dan, and Grandkids, Wesley and Laura are a delightful family fully engaged with Dan’s law practice, chicken farm and Bloom Greenhouses and Garden Center. And our extended family as well….for them we also give thanks!
What can I say? We hope that we always can meet your expectations, it isn’t always easy but all excuses aside, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the “Pondless Waterfall Kit” is Wendy Robinson. She was in the other day to claim her prize.
We have many friends and a special few who simply hold permanent and lasting places in our hearts. You know who you are so I will not say any more other than this…your place in our lives has made it worth living
One of my favorite words….next! We are working on several projects for the coming years. Here is a brief summary.
– We hope to sell our main nursery headquarters property and our container, rose, and retail business to new owners. We have engaged the realty firm of Robinson Harmsen Lifestyle Realty Inc.to undertake this sale. If you are interested please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Robinson Harmsen.
– We are working on the development of a new and expanded research program on the propagation and production of native species for habitat restoration including wetlands species.
– And finally, our field operation of growing large trees shrubs and conifers will be continued and expanded in the coming years. This is where we started and we believe in the market for large trees grown here in the region for the region.
– We offer and will continue to offer planting service for trees within the immediate area and welcome your requests for quotes to supply and/or install.
Giving thanks is something we try to do every day. In our busy world we sometimes become complacent or forget. This is perhaps not the kind of thing you expect from a business website but bottom line, It I not the business that builds our lives, it’s the people whom we have been blessed with that have given us joy.
For all of you…we give thanks!
Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving,
Paul H Grimm, President
